Prof. Yael Katzir an award-winning Israeli filmmaker whose documentary films include: Company Jasmine, 2000; Shivah for My Mother (57"), 2004; Praying in Her Own Voice (66"), 2009; and Violins in Wartime (48"), 2011. She has produced and aired 120 programs over a period of 10 years as part of her work as professor of film and history at the Art School at Beit Berl Academic College in Israel. Katzir is also a published author and has lectured at educational institutions and film festivals all around the world including in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Spain, Turkey, The United States and in Israel. In 2008 a retrospective of her work was screened at the University of Lucknow, in India, curated by Dr. Navras Jaat Aafreedi.
